Achievements of Central Laboratory during the Academic Year 1434 – 1435H

Central Laboratory includes four basic units

1. Life Science unit
2. Chemistry and Physics unit
3. Computing Processors unit
4. Hardware maintenance and support services unit

Life Science unit includes four subunits:

1. Molecular Biology unit
2. Cellular Biology unit
3. Cell Culture unit
4. Microscopy and Imaging unit

Chemistry and physics unit includes five subunits:

1. Thermal  and Elemental analysis Unit
2. Spectroscopy unit
3. Chromatography unit
4. Radiation unit
5. X-ray analysis unit

Services Offered by the Individual Units of the Central Laboratory

1. Analysis of samples for faculty such as researchers, professors, undergraduate students and projects Graduation.
2. Establishment of specialized courses for faculty researchers and students on the best uses of the devices available in the central laboratory. Providing advice in the implementation of projects and preparation of reports.
3. Contribution to the quality publications by giving excellent results compatible with all international scientific journals.

The Contributions of Central Laboratory

1: The scanning electron microscope unit

The unit received 419 samples in the academic year 1434-1435H from different Universities, Departments and Colleges. We also received and analyzed samples from other universities and individuals. All results sent to the researchers were published in scientific ISI journals.

2: Transmission Electron Microscope Unit

The unit received 164 samples in the academic year 1434-1435H from different Universities, Departments and Colleges. We also received and analyzed samples from outside universities and individuals. All results sent to the researchers were published in scientific ISI journals.

3: Element Analysis Unit

The unit received 265 samples in the academic year 1434-1435H from different Universities, Departments and Colleges. We also received and analyzed samples from outside universities and individuals. All results sent to the researchers were published in scientific ISI journals.

4: Spectroscopy Unit

Gel permeation chromatography received one sample from Chemistry Departments. The device is under maintenance since 27/04/1435.

5: Automated Chemical Analysis Unit

The unit received 36 samples in the academic year 1434-1435H from the Department of Chemistry.

6: Infrared Unit (FTIR)

The unit received 215 samples in the academic year 1434-1435H from Colleges and Universities.

7: X-Ray Analysis Unit

The unit received 488 samples in the academic year 1434 -1435H from Colleges and Universities.

8: Thermal Analysis Unit

The unit received 122 samples in the academic year 1434 to 1435h from colleges and university departments.

9: Radiation Unit

The unit received 13 samples from Physics Department and others individuals.
