From the graduates' sayings

Why did you choose the physics major?

Physics is the knowledge of God's laws upon which this universe was built, any life movement around us that we cannot fully explain except by understanding its physics. The science of physics is based on human curiosity and desire to live a better life. The most beautiful thing about studying physics is expanding the mind's horizons and training it to think in organized ways

Basma Al-Wazzan

Why did you choose the physics major?

There is nothing more delicate than contemplating the universe and its contents of large galaxies and majestic nebulae. The physics major carries all of that and more. In order to move between its various branches, saturated with its concepts and laws, you must try to think well about the problem and give each exercise in the course its due. To begin reaching the final solution, do not forget to strengthen your two most loyal weapons: integration and differentiation, which become stronger and stronger with practice.

Why the Physics Department at King Saud University?

With the deep belief that the College of Science is the station for forming questions and the station for finding answers, and that physics with its branches is the link between them, I chose to study for a Bachelor of Science in Physics at King Saud University. Year after year in acquiring physical knowledge, I was able to find the most accurate way to connect the two stations, studying the different branches, and learning about the differences between them, which make each branch of physics have a characteristic that distinguishes it. This is precisely what directs the learning physicist to his precise research field, and it is with which I concluded my wonderful experience in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, within the research graduation project that crowns the student's physical knowledge. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, relying, after God's grace, on scientific competencies in the specialty, and benefiting from the cognitive sources and educational resources available to all students of the National University.

Why the Physics Department at King Saud University?

From my early teenage years, I looked with great admiration at physicists, their conversations and even their jokes, and soon the science of physics attracted my curiosity and I became interested in it and read a lot about it, and then my passion for this science began. In the second year of high school, the teacher asked us what we wanted to major in and I said physics. In the next year (third year of high school), while talking to the girls in my class who knew my passion for physics and how much I loved physics class, they asked me where I would study physics. I answered: King Saud University, College of Science. What attracted me at the time was the distinction of the university and its activities. I had been reading about it, and that was it. I began my journey in the field of physics and astronomy without much hesitation in choosing. I had been determined since the preparatory year and had been annoying the people in my class about this major and my passion for it. Then I was accepted and it was a happy moment in which the hopes of the previous years were revealed. The first year in the major was not easy for me, as I faced difficulties and challenges, but it was a great incentive to push me to confront it with greater effort. In the second year, I got more used to the place (Department of Physics and Astronomy) and to physics, and I did my best. It was a nice year. In the summer, I was nominated by the department to go for summer training at the University of Sheffield in Britain, and this experience affected me not only academically, but also in life and as an experience that I spend. In the third and final year, I faced a big challenge in organizing time and work due to its abundance, and as soon as the middle of the year began, I learned this skill: in work, organization and commitment. At the end of the third year, we faced a major pandemic that caused us to stay at home (Coronavirus), and the learning process continued remotely, which is something that never occurred to me to do, but our beloved university and our wonderful department issued several decisions that made the education process easy and smooth and the best it could be in a similar situation, and it made me proud to belong to this precious edifice. Finally, I would like to thank the Department of Physics and Astronomy and its staff, I am the graduate Nujoud Al-Yami, for everything they have provided me and everything I have learned from them. I would like to encourage every person to do what they love and what they are truly passionate about because the adventure of life will be incomplete without it, and because it will result in their best achievements.
