Specialized training courses

Community partnership is a fundamental pillar for achieving the developmental goals of societies, and the success indicators of developmental plans are measured by the extent of local community involvement in decision-making. All developmental plans and projects target individuals in the community across all demographics. In line with this concept, the Department of Physics and Astronomy has taken on the responsibility of educational and instructional progress, achieving significant advancements and nurturing a learned generation, which is the strong foundation and essential support for building and developing the state. This has been accomplished through voluntary efforts from each member of the department, who willingly participates and contributes to the development of their community, whether through financial means, effort, opinion, or knowledge.

Believing in the importance of our role in serving the community, we have been keen to activate the community activity of the Department of Physics and Astronomy by starting with a strategic plan to raise awareness among all its members about the significance of voluntary service. This includes activating constructive and distinguished community services, as well as motivating students, faculty members, and administrative staff to participate and collaborate with various entities inside and outside the university campus.

Thus, the department has focused on offering several training courses for its members, including students and faculty, along with organizing various scientific seminars and workshops. It has also contributed to the activation of global observance days.

The aspects of community service in the department have varied to include cultural, educational, and social activities, in accordance with an approved plan aligned with the objectives of community service.

In light of the Department of Physics and Astronomy's interest in developing its members in their field of specialization, it conducts numerous courses and workshops aimed at enhancing work efficiency and responsibility. These include courses in nuclear safety and maintenance, such as the course on "Theoretical and Practical Principles of Maintaining Electrical Devices and Electronic Components," which covered the methods for inspecting devices and diagnosing faults, as well as a course on the fundamentals of soldering electronic components.
