About the Unit

The Exams and Assessment Unit follows up on matters related to students who have examinations, including specialized committees for midterm examinations, organizing examination committees, distributing invigilators during examinations, receiving examination papers from other colleges, make-up examinations, submitting grade sheets, and cases of cheating. The unit also analyzes the results of midterm and final examinations.

Establishing an integrated and advanced system for continuous quality assessment of students.

Objectives

  • Establishing standards and methods for developing question banks, as well as methods for standardizing psychological scales used by specialists in this field.
  • Developing the implementation mechanisms for examinations in coordination with the academic departments.

Unit Tasks

  1. Develop an action plan for the Vice Deanship regarding examinations and assessment, including examination mechanisms and schedules.
  2. Communicate with academic departments to obtain their feedback regarding midterm examination dates and the courses they wish to include in the unified college examination schedule.
  3. Prepare a brief examination schedule and distribute it to the academic departments and beneficiary colleges before the beginning of the semester.
  4. Communicate with the relevant authorities regarding the reservation of classrooms and lecture halls, as well as security, safety, and maintenance, to ensure that the facilities are suitable for conducting examinations.
  5. Prepare the detailed examination schedule, including the distribution of classrooms, invigilators, and building supervisors.
  6. Submit examination guidelines and organizational regulations to the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs for approval by the College Council.
  7. Prepare various forms governing the examination process, such as attendance sheets, cheating incident forms, forms for students without university identification cards, and other related forms.
  8. Hold at least one meeting, attended by the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs and department coordinators, before midterm and final examinations to organize the examination process.
  9. Hold at least one meeting, attended by the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs and college invigilators, to explain the guidelines and instructions related to conducting examinations.
  10. Monitor examinations at the college and handle cases that may arise during examinations, such as medical emergencies and contacting the Medical City, absent invigilators and providing replacements, and other related situations.
  11. Review examination procedures and propose methods for their development and improvement.
  12. Prepare a list of standards and specifications for developing examinations.
  13. Coordinate lectures and seminars to discuss different perspectives regarding examinations and psychological assessment.
  14. Prepare an annual report on the activities of the unit and submit it to the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs.
