Renewable Energy Exploitation and Applications Research Chair
This research chair is supervised by the Research Chairs Program at King Saud University, managed by a specialized scientific group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Science. The priorities of this research chair depend on conducting research, studies and various activities that support the development of the exploitation of renewable energy sources.
Vision:
The chair focuses on excellence and leadership in research and studies related to renewable energy represented by solar energy and other renewable energy sources.
Message:
The mission of this chair is to contribute scientifically to conducting specialized research and studies in the field of renewable energy technologies and their applications, based on adapting new ideas for the use of renewable energy and dedicating research efforts with its environmental components to developing green technology.
Research Activities:
The chair supports male and female graduate students (Masters and PhD) in the field of renewable energy, providing them with the necessary laboratory materials and equipment for the research topic. The chair partners with various research groups inside and outside the Kingdom, where scientific research has been and is being published in various scientific journals and international conferences.
Equipment and services provided:
An advanced research laboratory has been equipped to prepare and examine solar cell materials, as well as to manufacture and examine some types of solar cells in the laboratory. This laboratory serves male and female graduate students in the Renewable Energy and Environment Group, as well as male and female students of other research groups from within and outside the Physics and Astronomy Department, and provides the necessary support in terms of materials and equipment required for research.
A laboratory for solar energy applications has also been equipped, which contains some practical applications. This laboratory is visited by some school students in Riyadh, as well as those interested in this field from various parts of the Kingdom.
