Local & International Cooperation
There is constant regular communication with local and international researchers and experts, informing them of the development and research activities of the department, inviting them to participate in scientific activities, inviting them to collaborate and participate in research through joint projects or consultations.
In addition, the Department of Geology and Geophysics is very keen to invite specialists from industry to participate in teaching and training. In addition, specialists from industry and other government institutions jointly supervise, together with faculty members, graduate and graduation projects. Cadres and experts in industrial and government institutions are invited to attend department council meetings to contribute to teaching and research policies. Among the existing collaborations are:
1- Saudi Geological Survey: A five-year memorandum of understanding ending in 2027 and renewable aimed at cooperation in scientific research and technical studies in the fields of earth sciences.
2- Al-Haytham Mining Company: A memorandum of cooperation between the company and King Saud University represented by the Department of Geology and Geophysics aimed at training students in the department to link the skills and knowledge they have acquired in academic programs with the work environment
