In the name of God.. and prayers and peace be upon our Master and Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions all..
Dear visitors, I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, which is considered one of the oldest departments of the College of Science at King Saud University, as its establishment coincides with the establishment of the college in 1373 AH corresponding to 1958 AD.
The department is proud that it includes a group of faculty members who are professors, associate professors, and assistant professors, graduates of the most prestigious universities in the world, who work diligently and sincerely to achieve the vision of our wise leadership in the development and prosperity of our beloved kingdom. They serve the department in three stages: bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The postgraduate stage in our department is divided into seven research tracks (groups) which are theoretical, nuclear, biological and medical physics, materials, lasers and spectra, renewable energy, environment and finally astronomy
Our mission in the Department of Physics and Astronomy is to contribute to raising the level of quality of university education and work to provide scientific research at a high level of importance that contributes to achieving the goals of the college and the university and the vision of our beloved country 2030.
Also, my personal goal as head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Science is to contribute to raising the status of the department in all fields and developing the education process for our students by providing them with physical sciences and various practical and theoretical skills, so that they can explore their latent potentials and work to exploit them optimally, in order to enter labor market with high efficiency and contribute effectively to building our dear homeland.
