Academic and Career Counseling


Academic advising is the activity undertaken by academic advisors at the college to familiarize students with academic systems and regulations, assist them in their academic progress, and help them overcome any social, psychological, health, or academic problems and difficulties they may encounter.              

Academic advising objectives

    Academic guidance seeks to provide advice and assistance to students so that they can successfully complete their academic stage by achieving the following goals:

  • Providing the necessary support to the student during his studies to achieve completion of the study plan and the completion of all requirements within the available time period.

  • Providing academic and advisory information to students and increasing awareness of the university’s mission, objectives, and regulations.

  • Follow up on students' academic progress, help them complete their studies efficiently, and support the university's efforts to provide a sound educational environment to graduate students qualified for the job market.

  • Helping students identify scientific disciplines that suit their intellectual abilities and interests.

  • Guiding, guiding, caring for, and following up on students who are struggling academically to raise their academic level and help them overcome any difficulties.

  • Providing students with suggestions and advice to improve their academic achievement and helping them overcome their academic and administrative problems.

  • Raising awareness within the campus about the resources and services available at the university to enhance students' level.

  • Providing students with experience and scientific insight on organizing their time and making the best use of it to achieve the most effective study methods and good academic performance.

  • The student enters the apology request on the electronic portal and then goes to the counselor to fill out the apology form for a course and take his recommendation on that after making sure that the student entered his request electronically.

  • The apology is submitted to the college apology committee for implementation manually or on the e-mail of the college committee coordinator.

  • A student is considered deprived of the final exam if his absence exceeds 25% of the total number of lectures

  • When the student wishes to lift the deprivation, his excuses and justifications for his absence must be sent manually to the Student Rights Committee of the Vice Deanship of Educational and Academic Affairs at the College of Science, or to the committee’s e-mail: Studencare@ksu.edu.sa

  • Fill out an alternate final exam request form within one week of the final exam date

  • Complete the data and have it signed by the course professor

  • All medical excuses submitted must be from a government center or a private center, and they must be linked to the My Health platform.

  • The application shall be submitted by the student within a period not exceeding one week from the date of the test held, and it shall be sent after completing the application data with the official attachments to the Student Rights Unit email studentcare@ksu.edu.sa

  • The student is considered academically dismissed if he completes the regular study period (12 semesters). The student has the right to apply for an additional opportunity to complete his studies through the electronic portal.

  • Justifications for failure to finish the study plan shall be submitted to the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs, along with the opinion of the academic advising department, within a maximum of two weeks from the date of dismissal

  • The case is presented to the Procedures Committee of the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs for implementation and recommendations (the conditions and controls are implemented).

  • Re-enrolment: When the student’s enrollment is folded for any reason (the student submits a request for re-enrolment on the electronic portal within a period not exceeding two academic years from the date of enrollment being folded

  • Justifications for withdrawal or termination of enrollment are submitted to the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs, along with the opinion of the academic advisory department.

  • The case is presented to the Procedures Committee of the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs for implementation and recommendations (the conditions and controls are implemented).
