  مجموعة المواد بقسم الفيزياء جامعة الملك سعود تبحث العديد من التحديات العلمية في مجال المادة الصلبة. و تتعلق هذه التحديات بمجموعة من المواضيع البحثية في تقنية النانو وتطبيقاتها ونمذجتها, حسسات المواد الكيميائية والبيلوجية, أشباه الموصلات وأجهزتها, والموصلات الفائقة. وتتميز المجموعة بالتعاون مع المؤسسات التجارية والعلمية (مثل أرامكو ومدينة الملك عبدالعزيز للعلوم و التقنية ومعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو) مما يحقق التعاون في مجال بحث و تطوير المادة الصلبة.
