The College of Science is one of the oldest and largest colleges at King Saud University. It comprises eight departments offering both undergraduate and graduate programs, serving more than three thousand students of the college, in addition to its major role in teaching basic sciences to students of other colleges at the university.

During the last few years, the College of Science has taken confident steps toward development and upgrading all undergraduate programs to keep up with modern scientific advances. These steps will improve the educational outcomes in terms of the knowledge and skills required for our graduates to compete in the labor market and to serve society effectively. The college has obtained academic accreditation for its fifteen undergraduate programs from the German accreditation agency (ASIIN e.V), and continues to work towards obtaining academic accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). Furthermore, the college’s strategic plan is directed toward establishing attractive cross-disciplinary academic programs that meet the needs of the national labor market.

Research is another bright aspect of our college. The College of Science has achieved first place at the university level in research excellence, with a distinguished number of ISI-indexed publications, making it an active contributor to the university’s vision of global leadership. The college is committed to providing an academic environment conducive to high-level research and to encouraging faculty members by providing scientific facilities, overcoming obstacles, attracting active researchers, and reviewing academic performance on a regular basis.

Graduate studies play an effective role in advancing scientific research and publication. Therefore, special attention is given to developing the college’s graduate programs to meet academic accreditation requirements and attract talented students from inside and outside the Kingdom.

In addition, the college is working to develop its administrative processes by enhancing the automation of administrative procedures and improving the efficiency of administrative staff through appropriate training programs.
