The College of Science is one of the oldest colleges at King Saud University, established in the academic year 1402/1403 AH. It is the first scientific college in the Arabian Peninsula. The college has made significant efforts to keep pace with the country’s comprehensive development in various scientific, industrial, and technological fields. Its popularity has grown beyond expectations.
The development of the College of Science has not been merely numerical; it has also involved authentic scientific progress, taking into account the advancement of fundamental sciences. The college has made significant strides since its inception in terms of growth and development. It is one of the scientific institutions that provide the Kingdom with the necessary number of graduates who work in various scientific fields in universities, ministries, companies, and banks that are accessible to women. The college also works on sending outstanding Saudi female graduates abroad to pursue doctoral degrees in preparation for joining the faculty upon their return.
Since its establishment, the college has graduated thousands of students with bachelor’s degrees in various fields, providing them with up-to-date scientific qualifications. In the field of graduate studies, the College of Science has made significant progress in its graduate programs. All of the college’s departments offer master's degrees in different branches of science, and some departments offer doctoral programs, once the necessary resources and expertise were in place. It is worth noting that the graduate research projects focus on topics that serve development and society, and the results of these research projects have been published in local and international specialized journals, enhancing the college’s scientific standing. Many faculty members have participated in local and international conferences and seminars, presenting research conducted at the college. Additionally, the college continuously receives invitations to participate in global conferences, adding another scientific dimension to its reputation.
