About the Department
The Department of Biochemistry is concerned with the study of biological systems in all organisms, such as humans, animals, plants, microorganisms, and viruses at a molecular level. It interacts actively with related sciences such as chemistry, zoology, botany, microbiology, medicine, pharmacy, and agriculture.
In response to the development of biochemistry and its various applications, the department aims to prepare students to earn a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. This equips them to contribute to many sectors in the country, such as working in laboratories for the Ministry of Health, Defense, Commerce, and Agriculture.
The department is equipped with modern laboratories containing advanced equipment to provide a suitable practical environment for faculty members, enabling them to conduct research and keep up with rapid scientific advancements in biochemistry.
