Message from the Vice Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality
Reflecting on the reality of our beloved Kingdom, we find many practical initiatives and scientific proposals that have adopted the application of quality concepts within the education system. Quality in education is founded on four essential elements: the educational system, which includes the quality of teaching materials, methods, teachers, curricula, and the administrative support system; the social environment of both students and teachers; and, finally, the technology and tools fostered by a culture of quality within the educational environment, which play a role in ongoing improvement. Establishing and assuring an internal quality system provides the driving force required to advance the College’s educational system effectively and meet its goals and mission. Thus, the College fulfills its role in supporting the University’s mission and objectives, striving for global leadership and excellence in building a knowledge-based society. Achieving this is only possible through collaboration with College administration and departments to develop a long-term strategic plan that advances learning and teaching processes to align with the requirements of the modern era, community needs, and job market demands. This underscores the importance of establishing a dedicated Development and Quality Office within the College of Science and other colleges at King Saud University.
The Development and Quality Office at the College of Science was established in the 1428/1429 AH academic year by the decision of the University President, aimed at mobilizing technical and administrative efforts to support both the administrative and academic bodies within the College. This support enables quality assurance processes within the College and coordinates and monitors improvement plans, including promoting a culture of quality. Additionally, the office works to understand the expectations, requirements, and satisfaction levels of the University’s clients, both internal and external, including students.
The office is committed to ensuring that the College applies the highest standards of quality within its strategic plan, derived from the University’s broader strategic plan. This will set a future roadmap that places the College on a path toward national, regional, and global competitiveness, with Allah’s guidance.
